We are very excited to announce that Mr Nigel Lim, a well-respected Teochew tutor and media personality, is going to conduct a series of classes exclusively for LearnDialect.sg! These Teochew classes for beginners focus on building up vocabulary for daily conversations and commonly-heard Teochew phrases.
Teochew Classes for Beginners Details
Dates: 6 April 2019 to 25 May 2019 · Saturdays · 8 sessions
Time: 9am to 11am
Medium of Instruction: Mandarin
Price: S$228 nett, inclusive of course materials
Venue: Sakae Building, Singapore 534106 (8-minute walk from Tai Seng MRT)
A certificate of completion will be awarded for students who have at least 75% attendance rate.
About the Teochew Classes Instructor, Mr. Nigel Lim
Mr. Nigel Lim began his career in the broadcast media since early 1970s. Apart from his experience as a radio DJ at Rediffusion and Capital 95.8FM, Mr. Lim has also performed in numerous television dramas, stage plays and ethnic Chinese opera. Till date, he has more than 40 years of performing experience. In 2001, Mr. Lim began teaching Teochew in Singapore. He also conducts Chinese language and cultural classes in primary and secondary schools. To keep his students engaged, Mr Lim uses captivating storytelling methods. He believes that learning dialects would help students to better understand, appreciate and cherish Chinese traditions.
